The Peak District is full of rock, with countless boulder problems to crimp, smear, and slap your way to solving. But, with so much to choose from, what are the best peak boulders to start your journey?

That's where we come in. Key members of our 3RD ROCK Ambassador team have got the local knowledge that can help you go from lost in the woods, to finding your favourite ever 7a.

1. Brad’s Arete, The Presence of Absence *** f6c+. Stanton Moor.

An arete to the right of the tree climbed on it's right hand side.

Billy Ridal, (wearing our Ramblas trousers and Planet t-shirt) suggests the hidden classic Brad's Arete, and adds that this is a tick everyone should try. Just be brave, as it's higher than it looks!

"Technical and spicy to the end, the surrounding roots and foliage give it a great atmosphere"

2. Bad Lip * f7a Curbar Edge

Rachel Carr, (wearing our Titan Botangle Leggings) contributes Bad Lip, a must tick at the grade. Here's what she had to say about it:

"I enjoyed the added fear factor from a classic Peak landing but if done correctly the climb feels solid. I especially liked that I managed to do it with the very unusual beta of a left heel to hand in the end for an intense and flexy rock up to the next hold"

3. The Staffordshire Flyer *** f6b, Roaches Skyline

From good edges latch the lip and slap to the top (watch for the puddle!).

Usually found crushing hard Sport, Jerome Mowat is no stranger to classic Grit and adds The Flyer to the list of must ticks.

"This boulder has one of the wildest moves for its grade anywhere on grit, made more exciting by the threat of falling in a bog if/when you miss the jug! Unmissable, literally."

4. Leggit ** f6a+. Froggat

An obvious and long, clean crack line. What more could you want?

A recent Sheffield resident but long time Peak connoisseur Max Ayrton is a big fan of this long finger crack line. Max is wearing our Mercury Jeans and James Hoody.

"An obvious line that draws the eye and climbs as well as it looks! Watch out for the vegetated down climb though..."

5. The Shearing * f5+ Burbage South Valley Boulders

The arete on it's left hand side, trickier than it looks!

Holly Rees has been quietly crushing away for years and has a wealth of experience bouldering in the Peak and cites The Shearing as a really fun problem.

"Nice arete climbing, not too high and easy to bail off it if need be.  Good as a warm up or as a stand alone problem and in a beautiful setting"
