The 3RD ROCK Foundation is non-profit initiative by 3RD ROCK to increase the diversity within the outdoors and in climbing. Amongst other activites, we offer free coached climbing sessions to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic participants as well as LGBTQIA+ climbers. We also support grassroots organisations that act in the same or similar domain.
Our goal is to expand the outdoor and climbing community, to make it more diverse, and to make it somewhere that everyone can see someone like themselves, and can feel part of something bigger and most importantly, have fun :)
Some key activities:
- Supporting individuals to become certified and qualified climbing instructors.
- Supporting Wetherby prison with teaching inmates how to climb and how to become climbing instructors to further develop the career opportunities
- Educating climbers and any outdoorsy people on the environment, key "do's" and "don'ts" in the outdoors for a safer, more sustainable future
